Purpose

The purpose of JBot is to provide a "data assistant" for programming, and web design channels, as well as some general fun to any IRC channel.

  - Displays a random quote from the King James Bible.

  - Searches the King James Bible for a given quote. Note: This function may also be called with: Book Chapter:StartVerse for a one-verse quote.
• .validate url
  - Validates a website's markup using the W3C.org validator.
• .jargon anything
  - Looks up terms in the Free Online Dictionary of Computing.
• .define anything
  - Looks up terms in the Free Online Dictionary of Computing.
• .java item
  - To search the Sun JavaDocs for the specified item
• .css property
  - To search the CSS Reference for a given css property. Example: .css background-color.
• .html tag
  - To search the HTML Reference for a given tag. Example: .html head
• .php function_name
  - Search for a PHP function.
• .xslt element
  - Looks up elements in the xslt database.
• .xslt function
  - Looks up functions in the xslt database.
• .nickometer nick
  - Rates the given nick, and replies the lameness of the given nick.
• .tell user about whatever term here
  - To display an information item stored in the JBot database.
• .save multi-word term here is your definition here
  - to store an information item in the JBot database.
• .remove item
  - to remove an 'info-item' from the JBot database.
• .translate (or .tr) from_to string to translate
  - Translates the given text from one language to another. Example: .translate de_en hallo welt
